No Fireworks Viewing

With limited garage parking capacity at DCA due to construction, event parking and fireworks viewing at the airport are strongly discouraged. Expect delays from road closures and increased pedestrian and vehicle traffic in the area.

Expect Traffic Delays

Consider using Metrorail to reach the airport, and expect roadway closures off-airport that could increase travel times on July 4. 

Airline Flight Impacts

To accommodate the Fourth of July fireworks display, the Federal Aviation Administration is expected to briefly suspend airline operations at DCA, which may affect scheduled flights. Customers with flight reservations for the evening of July 4 should check the status of their flights directly with their airline.
