Come along, take an exciting look behind the scenes, marvel at huge aircraft and the hustle and bustle on the apron at close quarters. Students will visit the Airport Operations office to learn how the team keeps the airport running smoothly with opportunities to question employees about aviation technology and practices.

Students will have the opportunity to tour our Airport Fire Station. Our Firefighters will demonstrate the capabilities of the airport’s special emergency response vehicles, as well as show off our firefighting gear that is very different than what you would normally see at a municipal fire station!

Additionally, our Airport Police Officers will introduce you to their very special partner! You will see a demonstration of how our K9 dogs are trained to search and keep our Airport safe.

Tour Schedule: Tuesdays, 10:00am-12:30pm (timing flexible, please coordinate directly)

Suggested Age: Best suited for ages 5-18

• Reservations must be received at least two weeks in advance of your participation date.
• Tours are not available on federal holidays or during the weeks of New Year's, July 4th, Thanksgiving, or Christmas.
• Tours are not guaranteed until you receive a confirmation from the Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority detailing your participation date and program guidelines.
• Groups need a minimum of 10 students to participate. We cannot accommodate groups larger than 25 participants (including chaperones).
• Tours are subject to change or cancellation based upon weather, airport conditions, and staffing availability.
• The Airports Authority requires at least one chaperone for every ten students. A maximum of 4 adults on any one tour is allowed.
• Adults will need to bring government-issued photo identification on the day of the tour.
