Special event flyovers, fireworks and aerial displays in Washington, D.C., are planned throughout the summer in connection with America 250 celebrations. During these aerial events, flights will be temporarily suspended at the airport.

August 21: Some mid-day DCA flights may experience delays for aerial rehearsals. Check with your airline for specific flight information.

August 23:  Expect a 3-hour airspace closure beginning at 10:15 a.m. for flyovers of the Freedom 250 Grand Prix. Airlines are adjusting flight schedules to avoid this closure window. The airport will remain open, including dining, shopping, parking and security screening. Please check with your airline for updated flight information.
