With the summer travel season taking off Memorial Day weekend, Dulles International and Reagan National airports are ready to launch summer vacations to destinations across the United States and around the world. More than 20 million passengers are expected to travel through the region’s two airports from May through August, with 11 million of those customers using Dulles International.
The National Cherry Blossom Festival honors the 1912 gift of 3,000 cherry trees from Tokyo’s Mayor Yukio Ozaki to Washington, DC—a lasting symbol of friendship between the United States and Japan. This beloved annual celebration transforms the Nation’s Capital with four weeks of breathtaking blooms, cultural events, and unforgettable experiences.
The festival this year is from Friday, March 20 - Sunday, April 12, 2026.

Reagan National and Dulles International Runways Expected to Remain Closed Through Sunday, January 24. Significant snowfall and high winds, coupled with the continued closure of roads and public transportation in surrounding communities, make resumption of normal flight operations at the airports unlikely on Sunday.
Due to Project Journey, park free up to 60 minutes in Terminal Garages. For longer stays, regular parking rates will apply. Promotion is in effect for a limited time.
Park and Meet Inside Terminal 1 Recommended parking: Parking 1 (closest to Air Canada, Frontier, Southwest)
The Airport Chapel is located at the south end of Terminal 2 across from the Gates B10 - B22, directly behind Dunkin Donuts. The Interfaith Chapel offers travelers a quiet place for reflection. All persons are welcome. The Chaplaincy is staffed by ordained clergy and trained lay volunteers. For those who need additional guidance, our chaplains provide a bridge to community resources and churches throughout the greater Washington, DC metro area.
Worship Services
Free WiFi is provided in the Main Terminal and concourse areas. Our WiFi network is called "#DCA Free WiFi".
Step 1: Turn on your WiFi enabled computer, tablet, or smartphone and navigate to your WiFi settings. Select the #DCA Free WiFi network and a "splash screen" will appear.
Step 2: Enter your Email Address and Zip/Postal Code. Note: International Customers can select “Yes” to bypass entering the Zip/Postal Code.
Smoking is permitted outside the Terminal buildings at least 10 feet from the entrance doors unless otherwise marked. Ashtrays are provided outside the entrances.
These rules are in accordance with Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority Regulations, Virginia Indoor Clean Air Act, Va. Code Section 15.2-2820 et seq; and Virginia Statewide Fire Prevention Code.
Reagan National has designated Pet Relief Areas for our customers traveling with service animals. Pets are also welcome! We have several great locations for you to use:
Charging stations for computers, phones, and other electronic devices are located throughout the airport including the gate areas, restaurants, and baggage claim levels. Just look for the "power up" signage.
Traveling through Terminal 1? Charge your device while dining at District Bar, Reservoir or Page. Be sure to take your charger with you when you are done!
Reagan National Airport offers Smarte Carte baggage carts for rent. You will find cart corrals located on the Parking garages, Departures Level (curbside), and on the Arrivals Level next to the baggage claim carousels. Carts can be rented with a credit card or cash currency. The cost is $5.00 per cart.
