Cuba at Night

This weekend, Washington goes to Cuba!

Thursday, May 25, our friend, Andrew Trull, Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority journalist will be traveling to the beautiful island of Cuba. He will depart Reagan National Airport to Miami and from Miami to Havana.

His journey will begin by experiencing all the rich history of Old Havana, followed by a tour of a tobacco farm where the infamous Cuban cigars are handmade. Last stop on his itinerary will be the island’s signature sugar white beaches.

Cuban culture is a combination of African, Spanish, and the Native Taíno influences all wrapped in one.  Specifically, the Afro-Cuban culture exudes excitement which is seen all throughout the streets of Havana. It is not uncommon to hear the sounds of guitars, bongo drums, and see street dancers performing for travelers passing by. The locals are friendly, warm, and welcoming to tourists visiting their beloved island.
